Christmas parties in Prague get booked in October, and one question decides all of them: will the team spend another three hours sitting at a table? Most of the enquiries we get in November open the same way — last year was a dinner, this year we would like something where people stand up.
This is written for whoever has been handed that job. It describes one specific evening as it actually runs here, what it costs, and where it stops working.
The short version
- Where: Mulligan, Toyen 3410/5, Prague 5 – Smíchov, five minutes from Anděl metro.
- How many: five people per bay, ten across the two bays side by side. Twelve or more means the whole of Mulligan to yourselves, by arrangement.
- How long: two to three hours. Open daily 09:00–22:00, last booking starts at 21:00.
- What it costs: you pay per bay per hour, not per head — 750 to 1,150 CZK depending on the day and the time. Canapés from 1,400 CZK for twenty-five, ordered two days ahead.
- Included: clubs for right- and left-handers, men’s, women’s and children’s, balls and tees. Nobody brings anything and nobody needs to know how to play.
How many of you can come
One bay holds five players, two bays side by side hold ten, and you can move between them. That is the size this place was built for: ten people fit around two screens at once and nobody queues.
Above ten you start taking turns — half the group plays, half sits in the lounge and watches. It works better than it sounds, because watching somebody else’s shot is half the entertainment, but it is a different evening from the one where everybody plays all the time. From twelve people we suggest taking the whole venue and running the evening as a tournament with teams rotating.
Above roughly twenty we will tell you plainly that we are the wrong room. There is a section at the bottom about what to do instead.
What the evening looks like
Hour by hour. This is an ordinary Wednesday in December, ten people, 17:00 to 20:00:
- 17:00 — You arrive, coats go up, the first round is ordered. Staff split you across the two bays. Nobody chooses clubs; they are already in the bay.
- 17:15 — The first twenty minutes are just hitting balls. This is where it becomes clear that someone who has never held a club can do this, and that the colleague who “plays golf” misses too.
- 17:45 — We start a competition. Closest to the Pin is the one to open with: a single good shot is enough, so the order surprises everybody. The simulator keeps score.
- 18:30 — Canapés arrive at the tables. Half the group is sitting by now, half is still playing. We serve to the table in the bay, so nobody walks to the bar or settles up between rounds.
- 19:30 — The final. If the group would rather watch a match than play the last game, tell us in advance what you want to see: it goes on the wall across the whole bay and we confirm it before the day.
- 20:00 — The golf ends, the bar does not. Most teams stay another hour.
If you want a different programme there are over 500 courses, more than 130 of them in 4K, and eight games where handicap is irrelevant — from minigolf in a neon city to Shuffle Golf. Just say in the enquiry whether you want a tournament or a free-for-all.
Food and drink
The bar has cocktails, beer on tap, soft drinks and coffee. Crisps and nuts with a drink, a grilled ham and cheese sandwich for real hunger — the whole list is on the site.
For an event you order canapés in sets of 25, 50, 75 or 100 pieces, at 1,400, 2,500, 3,600 and 4,700 CZK. Every set has the same five kinds, one of them egg rather than meat, with allergens listed. They are made fresh to order, so we need to know at least two days ahead. For ten people over three hours a set of fifty is about right; if the party is replacing dinner, take seventy-five and we will arrange catering on top.
What it costs
You pay per bay per hour, not per head. For a company evening that matters more than it first appears: the budget does not move when two people drop out on the day.
Two examples, ten people, three hours:
- Wednesday 17:00–20:00. Two bays, three hours, 1,150 CZK per bay per hour — 6,900 CZK. With fifty canapés, 9,400 CZK: 940 CZK a head including food, before drinks.
- Monday 17:00–20:00. Monday is 750 CZK all day, so the same evening is 4,500 CZK, or 7,000 CZK with canapés — 700 CZK a head.
A price per bay is divided by the number of you. A price per head is multiplied.

The whole venue is quoted individually — send the date and the headcount and we will come back with one number including food. Prices include VAT, and you can settle by card or cash at the end of the evening, ask us to invoice it, or pay in advance — whichever suits your finance people.
When there is space
December Thursdays and Fridays fill from September and go first. Weekday afternoons and above all Mondays tend to be freer — and Monday is the lowest rate all day, so if the day of the week is not the point, that is the cheap version of this evening.
The last booking starts at 21:00 and we close at 22:00, so a party that is meant to end “whenever it ends” is better started at five than at seven.
If you are bigger than two bays
The honest part. For a team of up to twelve, Mulligan is the whole evening. For twenty it is a very good ninety minutes, not the whole programme. For fifty it is the wrong venue.
What to do instead, or alongside:
- A private room in a restaurant, when the evening is mostly about food, a speech and the team hearing each other. Golf does not replace that format and does not try to.
- A big space where everyone is doing something at once — bowling, darts, skittles — when there are so many of you that nobody can be left watching. Capacity wins there, not the experience.
- Split the evening. For twenty to thirty people it works to send part of the team here for ninety minutes in shifts and then meet everyone for dinner. We are five minutes from Anděl, so the move costs nobody their evening.
One more thing worth saying in advance: this is not a quiet private room. It is a bar with golf in it — there is music, the sound of balls hitting the screen and people laughing loudly. Anyone imagining an evening with a fifteen-minute presentation in the middle will be disappointed. Anyone imagining an evening the team sends photographs about the next morning is in the right place.
